DELTA Course in Chiang Mai

Welcome to the International House Delta in Chiang Mai, held at our beautiful, Thai style, training centre in the North of Thailand. Located 30 minutes from downtown Chiang Mai, the Chiang Mai teacher training centre boasts modern and well-resourced premises with a restaurant, accommodation, and pool on-site and surrounded by the beautiful nature of northern Thailand. The centre is incorporated within the IH Chiang Mai Language School itself. The welcoming atmosphere that the friendly and helpful reception, teacher and teacher training teams create adds to a congenial environment in which to take the course.

IH Chiang Mai, The Training Centre

International House Chiang Mai’s campus was built specifically to create a peaceful and relaxing environment in order for you to have a distraction free two months. The school was completed in 2014 so the facilities are brand new. With an on-site restaurant and coffee bar, everything is conveniently at hand for you to succeed.

Administration

A caring and efficient team on the premises is always ready to assist you.

Classrooms and Facilities

All classrooms are equipped with comfortable chairs and tables, whiteboards, audio streaming, projectors, visualizers, and DVD players.

Our resource centre is open from 9 am to 7:30 pm weekdays and 9am to 6pm on weekends. The resource room has 12 PCs, free wireless internet access for all those with laptops,  modern printing and photocopying machines, self study materials, grammar and vocabulary books, listening CDs, library of books and videos. Our tutors are also close by to help you every week day.

Life at a Leisurely Pace

Chiang Mai is Thailand’s second largest city, though you would never guess from its size. While it is vibrant and growing fast, it still retains a distinct charm, cultural appeal and long history which is particular to Northern Thailand. You will find a fascinating mix of ancient and modern at every turn.

The teaching centre is located in a beautiful rural setting with unbeatable views of the surrounding mountains and paddy fields – very relaxing for tired eyes after a hard day’s work.

As well as the famous Night Bazaar and weekend Walking Street markets, which have a dizzying array of local handicrafts, clothes and souvenirs, there is a number of other bustling local markets to visit including Wararot Market (or ‘Gard Luang’ in Northern Thai) where you can escape the tourists and find cheaper prices.

Get lost wandering in the quiet lanes (or ‘sois’) of the old city area and find hidden local restaurants, coffee shops or old temples. Jump in a local red taxi pickup truck (or ‘songtaew’) and go up to visit Northern Thailand’s most auspicious temple on Suthep Mountain – the views over the city are breathtaking and you will appreciate the cooler temperatures.

Further afield, though in easy reach for a day trip, are elephant camps, botanical gardens, waterfalls, hill tribe villages and more. For the more energetic visitor, there are great mountain-biking possibilities, white-water rafting adventures and the X Centre – an adrenaline sports centre.

Wherever you go in and around the city, you are likely to experience a more laid back atmosphere and attitude and a friendly smile from the locals, especially if you try out a word or two of Thai. The only problem with coming to Chiang Mai is that it can be very difficult to leave!
