IH Certificate in Teaching Young Learners and Teenagers

The Best Young Learners & Teenagers Teaching Certificate Available

The International House Young Learners and Teenagers Certificate (IH CYLT) is not to be confused with the Cambridge’s Young Learner Extension to CELTA course, which was discontinued at the end of 2016.  However, despite not running their Young Learner Extension to CELTA course Cambridge Assessment English now moderate the IH CYLT course, which means that all successful course participants will receive a certificate from International House World with Cambridge Assessment English’s logo on, guaranteeing the quality of the young learner training received.

Just like Cambridge’s Young Learner Extension to CELTA course, the IH CYLT helps teachers, many of whom are recent CELTA graduates, transfer their skills to a young learner context.  The IH CYLT comprises of actual teaching practice on real young learners and the benefit of then receiving detail feedback to lessons. There are also portfolio (homework) tasks that help to consolidate that learning from the input sessions, and two assignments to further develop course participants knowledge and understanding of young learner teaching.

Similar to the CELTA the IH CYLT is an intensive but also an extremely rewarding course that gives trainees a real grounding in how to teach young learners and teenagers more effectively.  The IH CYLT is run by our CELTA, Delta experienced and young learner trainers who are extremely knowledgeable and supportive to ensure that course participants are assisted throughout. Just as young learners classes should be fun and engaging the trainers will also ensure that trainees have a fun and memorable training experience.
